Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Remove the sill plate Remove the Metal cover with 2 small bolts, one towards the front, one towards the rear. ( I think it is 2 off the top of my head) you will have to pull back teh carpet a bit to find the bolts Split the big plastic wire cover open. Its just taped shut IIRC.

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

I dont know if the auto lights worked or not on mine. I never use them. I dont like them. Just out of curiousity, is there power going to the #5 fuse in your fusebox? Let us know if that wire was the culprit in yours as well.

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Yeah. Its a healthy wrap of electrical tape. I wanted it fixed ASAP as I needed the truck today and didnt have any real shrink tube on hand. It will be easy to unwrap, unsolder and shrink tube properly. But thats a job for the weekend with a beer in hand. Here are a couple pics. This is a pic...

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Thanks. I wasnt to keen on the idea of blindly dumping money at a new VSM. I doubt the dealership would have spent the time properly diagnosing it, they would have just threw in a new VSM and charged me a boat load for it and still not resolved the problem. I can get pics of the after. As long...

    05 5.4 P0022 and P0345..Cam Phasers..Where to go from here.

Interesting. Did you go for genuine Ford parts or go aftermarket? I have tried 5W-30 as well. It didnt seem to help much. But swithing to Valvoline's High Mileage 5W-20 did help overall. The whole engine seems to run quieter and smoother.

Skauber, Did you have loud phasers before changing the VCT's? I'm thinking of changing mine out. I'm not throwing codes, but the phasers are loud.

    Overhead video output

I'm looking at a service manual right now. I'm not seeing a Video output wire. And I dont think I will see one. The video comes straight from the dvd player to the monitor and never exits it. There is no need for the video to get involved with the truck. The audio is another story because it can...

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

update: FIXED!!!! So. The service manuals are a life saver. I was probing the wires that run to the VSM, 4 of them if I remember correctly. 3 of them had power. One did not. That was my starting point. It was the one that fed fuse #F1.5. (#F1.5 is #5 on the fuse panel cover) The fuse...

Door Sensor & Tire Pressure Error, Door Locks, & auto Lights Not Working!

Like I said in my post in the 2nd gen forum, I'll let you know what I come up with for a solution. I have a couple suspects, just need to find which one is guilty. We have identical Expy's. I bet yours is even blue and tan. haha

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Nope. Not yet. I have a service manual coming either today or tomorrow. I suspect that it is the splice on the medium speed canbus line that branches off into the TPMS section and Door Sensor/RKE section of the VSM. I am hoping that I can find the splice in the manual and then hoping the manual...

Electrical issue no light, radio always on, and auto headlight not working

I have the drivers side wire loom completely unwrapped. I cannot find any purple wires that have a junction there. Nothing that looks anything like whats in those pics. I have a ground union that goes to the ground point by that loom. There is also a 2 into 1 union of a black wire with a light...

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

I have pulled the plugs from it and made sure they are secure, and still no response. I'm no circuit expert by any means. If I opened it up I dont know that I would be able to tell what failed. So a new one is probably the answer. If I get a new one, does it need to be programmed? Or just...

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Ok. I have an ELM327 and have sucesfully added the HS/MSSCAN switch. I can access modules on both sides. I apparently cannot access the VSM. It doesnt show up in the list. I do have codes in other modules. Mostly the climate control stuff. Could you see the VSM on your truck?

Electrical issue no light, radio always on, and auto headlight not working

No such luck. I found the wires, but mine were not purple. They were the only things in that harness that looked the same. IIRC they were black with green tracer. maybe blue? hard to tell the color in the garage The color difference maybe because mines an 05? The wire loom was very wet once I...

Electrical issue no light, radio always on, and auto headlight not working

Bringing this back from the dead. Crazy_moh, DOHC-Bird, anyone else Were these wires under the metal guard thats under the drivers sill plate? In the wire loom underneath? If so, I assume you had to crack open the loom. Or were they in front of the metal guard behind the drivers kick panel? I...

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Thanks! Thats a great piece of software. I'll have to get a OBD dongle. I wanted one to mess with anyway. This gives me a good exucse. I have a scan tool but it doesnt go that in depth into on board modules. I'm hoping its just a loose connection or maybe water issues, something I can address...

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Cool. Good to know. That would explain why i only saw GEM's referred to in 1st gens The reason they failed in 1st gens seems to have been that the windshield leaked and water ran into them. Is that an issue with 2nd gens too? It did happen to rain last night after I 'reset' it by unhooking the...

Door Sensor Data Error and Tire Pressure Monitor Error

Hello all. I went out to the truck last night, and it wouldnt unlock with the remote. Huh. I thought maybe the remote batteries finally died. So I unlocked it with the key. No interior lights came on. Strange. Grabbed what I was after and then hit the power locks on the door. Nothing. So I...

Need advise prior to buy "Clock Spring"

Sounds like a clockspring to me. When they go bad, nothing on your steering wheel will work. Cruise, radio adjustment (if you have that) temp control (if you have that), horn, or airbag. I had one go out on my Mark VIII.

    Rear wheel bearing!

It does require a press to remove. You MIGHT get lucky heating the outside of the spindle to get it to swell, but I doubt it. By the time the spindle is warm enough to swell a significant amount, the bearing will be as hot and swelled as well. Its meant to be pressed in and out.
