    This might sound too simple, but I've fixed a rear hatch not opening with neither the key fob nor the door button and a remote start not responding by disconnecting and reconnecting the truck battery at the negative terminal (CTRL-ATL-DELETE).

    Stuck at gas station truck won’t start

    This is my go to. Before trying anything else, reboot the truck (remove negative batt terminal and reconnect after 15-20 seconds). I've fixed windows that stopped working, remote start that stopped working and the rear door that stopped working.

    I'd try this! Disconnect the negative terminal of your battery, leave disconnected for say, a minute or so, then reconnect. I've corrected minor electrical gremlins (remote start, back hatch unresponsive and windows that didn't respond) on two different Expeditions this way. It's rare, but...

    I bought a '99 Eddie Bauer new. It had a safety recall done because of the wipers having a mind of their own. I also lost the drive to my rear wiper. Although I never had it repaired, I believe the wiper motor failure was relatively common if my memory serves.

    I purchased a 2017 EL Limited 4WD with 52K miles on it from Enterprise Car Rentals online three weeks ago. ($5,000 under NADA book value) The truck looks new, feels new and even smells new. No problems so far.

    Agree. I also watch South Main Auto Repair. I fantasize about having the tools and the equipment and knowledge these guys have. They do reinforce my philosophy though, having a mechanic you trust and have confidence in is as important as having a doctor you trust and have confidence in.

    That's a thought, not wanting the work. I guess if I agreed to the price he'd take the work in a heartbeat. Got an appt with Ford. I checked two other shops and nobody wants to replace manifolds on my truck. Thanks for the reply!

    Diagnosed with two cracked exhaust manifolds by a local shop in southern Indiana. $2,300 to do the repair. I was counting on no more than about $600 for one manifold. I'm thinking my local Ford Dealer might be cheaper. Have repair costs really gotten this high?
