Thank you. I’ll try blowing smoke through it.

    4wd Vacuum Hub Line

I have managed to disconnect my drivers side vacuum line for my 4wd actuator hub.. It is the skinny one and came disconnected somewhere over the shock tower. I can’t find the other end to reconnect. Does anyone know where the connection is located or from where it draws its vacuum?

    Transmission Missed Shift/Slip

I think I have found the cause and wanted to post so that it might help somebody in the future with a similar issue. To recap: I had my transmission rebuilt and was getting a weird random slip going into third gear. It would happen once and then not again for several weeks and then again...

    Transmission Missed Shift/Slip

I would say that it is more of a slip. I do have some forward thrust when it happens. The solenoids were replaced during the rebuild. I guess it’s possible that I got a bad one out of the box.

    Transmission Missed Shift/Slip

I have a 2005 Eddie Bauer and just had the transmission rebuilt. Everything has been working fine for about 2,500 miles but I have experienced two instances where the transmission feels like it missed third or fourth gear. The transmission will slip and then eventually find its gear. I was...

P0720 Reverse No Forward / Limp Mode

On my 2005, I changed the fluid one week ago. It was dark but not totally burned. Had about a tablespoon of friction material on the magnet. Yesterday while driving on the freeway it started shifting erratically and then the o/d light started flashing. When I got off, I lost forward and...

    Hot air conditioning!

Mine switch has only two prongs, so it was pretty simple. No idea what the third prong would even do. It is a simple two pole switch.

    Hot air conditioning!

My ac went out (pressures normal and clutch would not engage) and it turned out to be the high pressure switch. Jumped it with a wire and it is working fine. (Until I can get the switch changed out this fall once the weather cools off a bit.

    Power loss

Do you have a code scanner? Does the throttle position warning come up when you go to start it? I just went through something similar and it turned out that the connector to my throttle position sensor was bad. Changed it and that fixed it.

What did you do to the expy today

In past three months: New timing chain, phasers and tensioners New Oil Pump New hoses New plugs and coil packs (only broke one) Changed out bad COP connector and TPS connector Rebuilt Throttle Body. It has been a pretty eventful three months, but I'm hoping that I'm done for a while....

    p2101 Throttle Actuator Control

Solved issue. Turns out that it was the throttle position sensor wiring connector. This is the second connector that has gone bad recently and caused real issues. The first was a coil pack connector that caused misfires which then led the pcm to shut down the ac. The most recent connector...

    p2101 Throttle Actuator Control

Hello All. After conquering the AC P0351 issue, the truck is now again running like crap and showing a p2101 Throttle Actuator Control code. It was running perfect this morning when I drove it to work and when I came out to drive home tonight, this code and it won't run at more that about 20...

    Air Conditioning PCM Control

Ok. Finally solved it. After checking all the wiring, it turns out to be a faulty connector plug for cylinder one. Changed it with a new one ($29.00 for Motorcraft plug - Ouch) and the misfired is gone and the ac works. Thank you to everyone who helped out. I appreciate all your advice.

    Air Conditioning PCM Control

I found the information below and this is exactly what is happening except mine in the #1 and 2 cylinders misfiring. When I get home I’ll check the wiring. In the meantime, does this sound like a plausible explanation...

    Air Conditioning PCM Control

The high and low side pressures are a little under 100 lbs static. I have not running pressures since the pcm won't let the compressor turn on. Right after the ac quit, I starting getting p00351 code and misfires on cylinders one and two. Truck basically goes into a limp mode if you try...

    Air Conditioning PCM Control

The pressures are good and I can get it to run by grounding the 30 prong on the ac clutch relay. So I am suspecting that the pcm is not commanding a ground for the relay as it should. Coincidentally (or not) I and now getting a p3051 code and it is running like crap. This in combination with...

    Air Conditioning PCM Control

My ac stopped working and I traced it back to the pcm failing to issue a ground command to the clutch relay. Is this a common issue and do I need to replace the pcm? I don’t see any issues with the wiring from the relay back to the pcm.

    432,000 miles and uses oil

With 432,000 miles, you sir, are an inspiration.... Great work! As to synthetic oil, I'm a firm believer. I've put over 200k on three different cars (Expy, Toyota and Mazda) on a diet of synthetic changes every 7,500 miles. The stuff just works.

    Battery issues, then....weirdness

I agree with Black. Check your alternator output voltage. Not enough output can cause the computer to do strange things. I had a car once refuse to shift out of third. Thought it was the tranny, but it turns out it was the alternator going out and computer was giving bad commands to the...

    AC Stopped Working

Thank you for the tip on the dryer. I will change it out. I bought the truck in 2016 so I don't know its history prior to that point. So it is always possible that the system has had leaks in the past or parts changed without a complete vacuum down. That would leave moisture for in there...

    AC Stopped Working

It is cooling now when I jump the switch. (Sorry I forgot to mention that part). This is why I’m starting to wonder if some rust or gunk somehow obstructed the expansion valve and messed up the pressures. That would throw the high pressure side way up I would think. The fluid from the...
