Sort of.. I’m saying if you’re needing to roll into the peddle down shift to 9th or 8th or whatever it takes to bring the RPMs up.
The eco makes so much down low torque it’s happy to chug along almost like a diesel but it brings on the boost which brings on the heat.
Just give it a shot and...
Killer list! She’d be a runner for sure!!
I haven’t heard much about downpipes but know some of the early eco’s love them.
Also worth noting there are always turbos if your feeling froggy…
I have lived on the road for 18+ months.. and bought a truck specifically due to my 4100lb pin weight trailer. I’ve run so many numbers I can’t even explain.. so I get it.
And it’s EXACTLY why I’d be mad if my Expedition could take 18xx payload via the scale and Ford tells me it’s 1500.
The dyno is wheel HP. So stock is mid 300's and tuned is 430
This is at the wheels... have to consider 20ish % drivetrain loss. So OP picked up roughly 100hp over stock at the motor.
The idea is to get the coolant flow up... More RPM = more flow from the coolant pump.
This has been discussed at nauseum on the F150 forums. Part of the "issue" is also the location of the temp sensor. I believe it's directly after the turbos, so the second you get out of the boost/let off...
The overheat is super common on these engines... First thing you can do is try to drop a gear or two manually to increase coolant flow.
From there it gets a bit messy :)
The challenge is not really wanted to cat scale a vehicle prior to purchase. It would be nice to know if it's atleast in the ball park of the high end or low end...
Is max payload a legal number? Are you suggesting it's fine to surpass the rated payload on the sticker?
I've very intentional searched for an XLT, no pano roof, bucket seats knowing they should be in the 1700+ range but getting screwed out of 300-400 lbs sucks.
There is zero chance this is correct...
weight can swing 300+lbs between just a few options.
buckets, Pano roof, XLT vs. limited is probably a 300-350lb difference.
I'm not going to lie... As someone who does everything I can to be smart with towing, it would really tick me off that they...
My plan was Bilstein 4600s only. Do I need to replace the actual factory springs back to OEM? Not sure how wore out springs get… also, I’d really hate to be a couple grand into this thing. I do plan on keeping it but I don’t want to put 50% of its value into a repair so trying to be semi reasonable
I’m going to upgrade the suspension in our 2012 step by step until I’m happy with its performance. Right now it’s an absolute mess on the road.
Is the right order the following??
1. Bilsteins
2. Rear sway bar
3. Front sway bar?
Does the order of sway bars matter? Front first, rear first??
Do...
Interesting post, and I like the approach…
Makes me wonder how many aftermarket IC reports are in some way related to the louvers. I mean you probably remove those if your spending time putting an aftermarket unit in
Now that said… lots and lots of people report favorable results in conditions...
I was going to go either 5-star or gear head on tunes and still researching intercoolers. I know what’s out there for F150s but not sure what fits the Expeditions.
I guess we’ll see what I can get for ours and what I can find on the used market. We have a low mileage 2012 XLT (short wheel...
Loki - I’m one of those guys who can’t leave hood enough alone.. so a tune for sure, maybe IC and intake just because. Also Hellwig bars most likely happen
One thought was save the money on the 17’ for some parts.
Do the load leveling shocks only come on certain packages in the Gen 3?
Deep...
So we're looking to upgrade into a EB Expedition. We currently have been traveling fulltime for the past year but will be settling back down and looking for the do all rig moving forward.
I'm torn between a Gen 3 EB and a Gen 4. For those of you that have owned both what are your opinions...
That’s gross combined (SUV + Trailer)
just remember there are lots of numbers, all have to be in line to be legit. Gross, payload, rear axle, hitch, etc
