    Gas smell on starting.

Condensation from the exhaust is normal, on a cold startup. A raw gas smell indicates an exhaust leak (most likely at the manifold), or loose spark plugs. I have the same problem in my 2010, passenger manifold leaks.

    Interior Lights Won't Go Out

Check to make sure that the instrument cluster dimmer isn't set in the indented position. I'm not sure if the 15-17 Expy's have it, but the 07-14 Expeditions have a scroll-wheel for the dimmer, and if it is set all the way in the up-position, the interior lights will stay on all the time.

How much play/slop in IWE is ok?

The hub should be able to move about 30 to 35 degrees in each direction, before it starts to turn the axle. As long as there's no grinding issues, then you are fine.

Timing job - HELP - timing marks no longer line up?!?

What you are experiencing is normal. After you finish re-timing the engine and pull the tensioner pins, the timing chain is not going to slip off the timing marks. If you rotate the engine after you set the timing, the timing marks will not line up again until a few rotations have been...

    Engine timing codes? 2005 Triton V8 5.4 V3 200k miles

Depending on how many miles were put on the vehicle from 3 years ago until now, you could remove the oil fill cap and filler neck (on the valve cover), and use a flashlight to look at the Phaser. A new Phaser wouldn't be as tarnished as a Phaser from the original timing set. Same goes for the...

2014 Expy King Ranch EL - Puddle Lights Wont Come Back on

Both of them not working, could be a fuse that blew. Check the manual to see which fuse controls the puddle lamps. If you still have the original bulbs (and they still work), try putting them back in and seeing if they'll come on.

    Engine timing codes? 2005 Triton V8 5.4 V3 200k miles

At 200k, the truck is due for a timing job. However, P0340/P0345 are codes relating to a faulty cam sensor. If you can, try replacing the Bank 2 Cam Sensor and see what happens after that.

    Engine Studder, No Codes

Sounds like the torque converter is slipping when it locks. On a cold start, the TC won't lock until a certain Trans temp has been reached, so that explains why it runs OK on a cold start. A TC that is bad will slip the most when it is locked in the overdrive gear, and at lower RPMs (35-45MPH)...

    Miles comparison

2019 MAX Limited, bought in July 2022 with 66k, now has 123k -4 days after purchase, Phaser rattle showed up. Went to dealer for replacement under warranty. -Heater hoses replaced at 105k (first time) No other issues, it has been a great vehicle.

07 XLT intermittent multiple codes and warning lights

Since it is intermittent, I would first look to identify an electrical issue. Check the wiring down by the Left front speed sensor, and the wiring to the ABS Module. Any problem with the ABS system will also turn on the AdvanceTrac light. (Trac. Control Light) Next time the lights come on...

    Air blower noise when accelerating

I'm almost sure that the problem is that one of the hoses is not connected correctly, and air is leaking past the hose when boost pressure is applied. Check to make sure that there is not an air filter restriction, or one of the plastic clips haven't broke by the inlet side of the air pipes, and...

Overheating warning issue after heater hose replacement

It sounds like a computer issue. I would un-hook the battery overnight, to let the computer reset.

Driver Side Front Seat Trim Needs to be Replaced

Your local junkyard probably has an Expedition. If they let you pull-a-part, I would get it from there. Ebay or an online Ford Parts place will probably have It too.

    Scanner Ford expedition 2020

I use Forscan with an ELM327 Adapter. Forscan is easy to use, as long as you have a laptop and knowledge on how Forscan works.

    Power Running Board Settings

The system will revert back to the auto setting after every cycle. You can keep them out by setting them in the "out" position, and then pull the fuse the goes to the running board motors. Therefore, they will stay out all the time because they have no power to them. Just don't lose the...

How many Miles on your 4th Gen Expedition

2019 Expedition MAX Limited, about to hit 116,000 miles. - Did Cam Phasers once, Heater Hoses once, Spark Plugs done at 98k, rear brakes done at 102k for 3rd time - Has a malfunction upstream O2 Sensor, I'll replace that soon. - Lubed running boards at every oil change (Mobile 1 Full Synthetic...

    Fluid leak, now no forward.

The fluid looks ok, it seems to be dark in the bottle that it was put in (in one of the photos) Are there any metal shavings on the magnet? If so, is it a significant amount?

    Fluid leak, now no forward.

Because there is no fluid pressure in drive, it looks like something internal was damage in the transmission. When the pump is turning, the fluid seems to be leaking out somewhere; big enough leak to get little to no pressure. Next step, I would try to take it to a transmission repair shop and...

    2017 Expedition - Jerky acceleration, misfires (P304, P300, P305)

The random misfire issue is now a mystery for me. The carbon build-up on the valves would've sure caused problems in the future, if not already partially affecting the misfires (along with whatever else is causing the misfires). You may see an increase in MPG after cleaning those valves too...

2013 Rear HVAC Blend Door Noise

If there is a knocking when you try to change the temperature, It is most likely the temperature actuator that is going bad. It's simple to fix: Replace the actuator. If the actuator gets replaced, just pull the rear HVAC fuse to calibrate the actuator. Pull the fuse with the car off, re-plug...

    2017 Expedition - Jerky acceleration, misfires (P304, P300, P305)

You can try that cleaning product, I was actually completely unaware you could use a cleaning product for the valves. It wouldn't hurt to try, hopefully it fixes the problem. If it doesn't do any help, I would try to remove the intake and inspect the valves for carbon build-up.

    2017 Expedition - Jerky acceleration, misfires (P304, P300, P305)

I'm almost sure that you cause is not a bad PCM or a bad connection to the PCM, usually those codes will come up when the battery suddenly died. I can also happen if your battery voltage is low and when you start the car, the starter takes enough power to temporarily shut down a module. A PCM...

Driver side rear wing-window, stuck open(yesterday it was stuck closed). Is there a manual override to close the window...

No, there is no manual override. I would try to CAREFULLY disconnect the mechanism (so the glass doesn't break), and manually push the glass shut. Then, i would tape the glass so that it stays shut, and try not to use it. Do you know why it is starting to stick open/closed?

    2017 Expedition - Jerky acceleration, misfires (P304, P300, P305)

No, you should not replace any of the coils. If any coils go bad, the computer will set its own "bad coil" codes. Coils do not have to be changed at a certain interval because they are considered a non-maintenance part. A coil may go out around 200k miles, 120k is too early. Fuel Injectors are...
