I just had 4 new tires installed. I initially wanted the Definity Dakota AT in 285/75/16 but looking at them up against the truck they looked a bit too beefy. The guy said that they had just tried to install some of the same size on an F150 and they rubbed the lower valance at full lock so i went with the 265/75/16 and IMO they fill out the wheel well nicely.
Drove nice on the freeway as well and I like the difference between the Passenger 255's and the LT 265's.
While the wheels were off I took a look at the brakes and it seems someone had just put new pads on before I got the truck so I lucked out there.
I'll snap a few pics tomorrow. Slowly but surely the Expy is coming along.

Cool. I got the same tires...except in 285/75...no rubbing on mine, though. Let's see some pics!

Actually Remo i wanted the 285's even after you said they wouldn't rub but the guy said he had just tried them on an F150 and they hit the lower valance at full lock. I didn't want to take the chance

285/70/R17 will fit no rubbing....285/75/R16 should not rub either though seeing as you have a smaller rim, I have 285 70 17 on my truck and there is no rubbing at all

I just put Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/70R17's on my '01. They don't rub and I think I could have gone up to the 285/75/17's with no issues as well.

Well my 285s are mm from rubbing on the valance. If you don't have a 4x4 or if you dont have the front end leveled, you might have had rubbing.

mine rubbed a little on lower valance... so I unbolted the lower trim piece of valance and liked the look a lot better plus allowed my skid plate to bolt up easily

nice rims!!! have the same only black. (spray paint)
also you could have gone with the 285s. they shouldnt have rubbed. but they still fill it out nicely. and even if they did rub just a little bit of sanding on the lower valance and you would be golden.

285/70/R17 with no Lift?

I was looking into getting this size as well on my 2002 EB (4AWD) but wanted to hear someone confirm they would fit nicely.

NM- installed BFG AT T/A KO's today 285/70R17

NTB didnt think it would fit, thought the lower valance would catch and we might need to trim a bit or remove it, tried one on and checked for rubbing on full tilts either way, no rubbing :)
