I have a 03 XLT, believe me I tried there isn't. And you can't use the EB ones because they are different. I removed all mine and had them painted, 10 pieces in all, including the front valance and rear bumper. they are pretty easy to remove. Or have a body shop paint them while they are still on it.

How are the EB ones different? I know you can get panels from Tascafordparts.com.

Or, you could do as Bow down says and paint them. You'd probably have to sand them to get the smooth.

the molding looks really good. did you sand them or is that just painted over the rough surface?

I have painted my cladding, unfortunetly the pics from my thread don't work anymore (http://www.expeditionforum.com/showthread.php?t=2012&highlight=cladding)
To get it smooth you have to use a primer, and only use really fine sand paper, like 400+. If you use course sand paper, it will really dig in to the plastic and take forever to sand the scratches out (I'm talking from experience). You only need primer though if you want it ultra smooth, if not all you have to do is wipe off the dirt with some soap and water and spray on some Krylon paint. Krylon (made for plastic) requires no primer or sanding, and is also chip resistant. I've had mine painted for 3 years now and it's just starting to fad a little, I'll probably spray on a new coat when I have time.

Thanks for all the props, I had them done professionally. He roughed them up a bit, then sprayed primer then sanded. He also did the tail lights, but he didn't do them dark enough so I had a friend respray them darker. here's a pic of them before and after. I had the 2 red strips and reverse taped off, for a different look.

Thanks, out everybody tints the whole light, wanted to be different and stand out. What head lights you have now? Yeah, opening up a set of headlights and getting PTM, would look sick. Plus no one else would have a pair like yours. Truly would be custom then. I have a set of head lights with the chrome bezel, I swapped out for the black ones. I'm looking for another set of black head lights, the plastic lens got spider cracks in them. And look awful compared to the rest of the truck.

I'm looking for another set of headlights like yours. I have a set like that but aftermarket and the lens has spider cracks in them. I want another set, so if you know any selling a set let me know. I have another set of stock headlights, but the bezels are chrome. They are OEM Ford... They were originally on the truck, but I wanted a black set to go with the black out theme.

The pictures look great of the painted molding.

How many coats did you use?

What finish did you use (flat or gloss)?

Did you use a clear top coat?

I'd like to know some details on the painting process as well...I'm not set up to do it myself unless I just washed it down and painted it like smo0othride did.

I figured I'd get an idea from a local ford shop and they told me it's not possible to paint them since it's a texture plastic and the only option was to order EB cladding and front and rear bumper...total cost was $4800...I said hell no.

I've been wanting to paint mine but what bugs me is that I see alot the panels on the doors (mine included) that are warped.
It looks crappy to me to have warped, painted moldings.
I've been thinking about getting the paintable moldings just for my doors and possibly the small pieces next to the doors if they don't match well after I get them painted. I haven't seen any Eddie Bauers with warped moldings and the complete Eddie Bauer conversion is way too much money.
