My 2005 Eddie Bauer cuts out around 1500 rpms. If I shut my overdrive off and the rpms stay high, no problems. Not sure if this is an engine problem or a transmission problem. If I have the cruise on and start to pull a hill it starts doing it. Any ideas out there?

Welcome to the site. Please describe what you mean by "cuts out", engine shutting off or slipping trans?

Cutting out

I think the engine misses. Now it doesn't matter if the overdrive is on or not. It happens between 1500 and 2500 RPMS. I don't see a big rise in the RPMS that would indicate the transmission slipping.

How many miles do you have? I'd start with plugs and COP/wires depending on what Gen you have. There are a million posts on here about the 1500-1600 rpm 'rumble strip' or stutter.
