06 left rear cv shaft removal

did a bearing replacement on my 06 4x4 expedition but my cv shaft came apart in the process so I'm looking to find anyone that has a step by step process in removing the left rear cv shaft

There's is only a ring that holds it in there , take a prybar abasing the diff and to the axle stub and go from side to side pushing it out
