My wife’s expedition has been having issues when starting up and the heat or ac won’t engage. This doesn’t happen all the time but when it does happen I get a call or text from her ******** about it.

Now when this has happened to me I just simply smack or kick the bottom of the plastic box under the dash on the passenger side and it works every time. I’ve removed the fan and checked for debris but it was fairly clean. I also plugged the fan to a power supply and it worked flawlessly.

The other issue it has is that sometimes when the ac is on at start up something sounds like it’s clicking. You’ll hear this clicking sound for about 10 seconds then it goes away. I’m not sure if this happens when the heat is on also.

Has anyone ever experienced these issues?

I have the clicking sound. Mine is in the rear however and I found out it is a blend door actuator. There may be one in the front also but I don’t know.

Any idea how difficult it is to replace the rear blend door actuator? I have the same clicking.

I’ll see if I can take some time and just replace the blower motor. I mean it works most of the time and sometimes when it doesn’t start right up, it works after I kick it lol.

As far as the clicking sound... thanks to whoever pointed out the blend actuator. I saw a video and it’s not hard to get to so I’ll look into this also.

I had the same problem on my wife's 09 Expy. During the summer's she would go over a bump and the the blower would stop working and I would get a call. My connector had partially melted. I ended up ordering a new wire harness and rewiring and no problems since. Good luck!

Update!!

I’d figured I’d update this post since it may help others with same or similar issues. About two weeks ago the blower completely stopped working and i had no heat coming from the front of the truck. I checked the wiring and fuses but it all looked good so I went on amazon and got a blower motor from them. I think it’s a TYC brand or something like that.

Two days later the part comes in and after about 20 minutes of fighting to get the old part out and new part in... I now have heat on the front of the truck again.
