I want to put an exhaust on my 08.

I had a Yukon prior that I put a flowmaster system on that sounded amazing. It was a single flowmaster branched out to two outlets to the back.

Is it even worth it with all the restrictions on these systems without putting headers on and going true dual all the way back?

From the youtube videos i've looked at, there really wasn't too much of a difference between stock and aftermarket IMO.

Keep in mind I live in California where you really cant do anything extravagant to your exhaust without having to put it all back together stock come smog time...

Any ideas?

I'm looking for a deep low rumble, dual out the back (but hidden like an old cutlass, not into the "look" of duals, just the sound)

I had a custom bent system in my Yukon that just a tiny bit of the exhaust was pointed down just behind the rear bumper. It looked sweet, and sounded really nice.

Any recommendations on brand? I like flowmaster for their throaty sound, but maybe there is somehting I dont know that is out there that would be better.

Here is a pic of the old Yukon for S&G's.

Hi general i can't tell you on personal experience about a brand but on my 08 i cut off the muffler and it makes a major diffrence youtube does it no justice if you want to get an idea of how it sounds get under the car and with a 15m socket crack loose the two bults and seperate the muffler a bit. You don't want to ride around like that for too long but it will give you an idea

general i have a spintech catback DI/SO due the independent rear suspension. I have had no problems passing smog here in L.A. county. spintech is a CA company and does the mufflers for the midgets/sprint cars on the west coast, so they can handle lots of power. And unfortunately youtube videos really don't do exhaust or audio systems justice. if you get rid of the y pipe it gets rid of lots of the restriction. here is a pic of my exhaust.

I just put a 40 series Flow on mine yesterday (single in/out) it sounds damn good when you have your foot in it and quiets down while crusing at highway speeds.
