I was playing in the snow switching between 4h and 4l and a4wd, and yes i was switching between the three according to the manual, When i was going from 4l to 4h/A4wd (in neutral, stopped, and foot on brake) all i got was the normal clicking from dash, and then nothing so i tried again same clicking noise then nothing, tried again and then no more clicking noise and was still in 4low so for the heck of it i turned the truck off and started it back up then it was out of 4low, but i have no A4wd and can not switch to 4h or 4l, i check the fuse under hood #104 which is the 4x4 clutch fuse, which is good would like some help before i start spending money. Also when i try the switch i get nothing no clicking noise no light just nothing..lol, Also i have no lights on dash, and have tested on some ice i only have 2wd even though the switch is on A4wd.

sma, your transfer case motor has failed/froze. Unfortunately, this results in having to put in a new transfer case motor. Fortunately they are fairly cheap and easy to install.

Maybe he's lucky and it's just the connections to the transfer case motor?
