1st Gen Expedition side view mirrir

I an the original owner of 1998 Expedition, Eddie Bower.
Best car I have ever owned and I keep it in top shape.
The passenger side mirror became loose. The non heated, turn signal mirror glass is not broken.
The issue appears to be that the pivot attachment on the back of the mirror has broken.
The Up/down, Left Right motors both work. Two plastic posts behind the mirror are also broken.
I believe the plastic posts limit the extreme movement of the mirror.
Looks like the broken parts can be replaced if I can find them.
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

hey there my name is Patrick, in my opinion it would be a lot easier to locate a good used mirror at a junk yard near where you live at. I had to replace the entire passenger
side mirror before I could have my 02 Eddie Bauer inspected when I had first gotten mine my entire passenger side mirror was broken off at the door and it was just hanging
there by the wiring harness, found a good used replacement mirror and it only cost me $25 for the entire mirror, the only thing that I had to do was pop the mirror back cover
off the broken mirror and snap the back cover off the replacement mirror, the mirror harness from the replacement mirror plugged right into my factory harness and it bolted
right up to the door, hope this little bit of help works out good luck Patrick

doodlebugs is correct, a used one in good shape is easier. TYou will most likely have to remove the whole old one any ways, whyy bother with the extra work of having to rebuild one. I just picked up a side window and mirror for our 1st gen, the total was $80. The hardest part was removing the door panel for access, I'm a big fan of spending an hour on youtube, there are some good videos that show the locations of the screws, and the proper way to slide the panel up. Theres alot less of the breaky clippy things on the expedition than most cars.

I replaced mine years ago with the larger, power fold Navi mirrors. Hacked in the matching door panel switch for the fold to work as well.
