2 L7 12s with 1800 watt amp

Im thinking about getting two L7 12s with a 1800 watt Kenwood mono amp and I was wondering if I will need anything other than maybe a 2 farad capacitor to keep my trucks headlights from dimming. Also I found this box on ebay and was wondering if it was worth a shot. dont get a cap. WASTE OF MONEY! i have a 1000 watt amp and my lights dont dim. even at idle. then again my wiring isnt 0 gauge. need to get that next time i upgrade. im running 10 gauge. idk remember why i got that. i use that as speaker wire. but my 12 still hits. cap are for people who have little batterys and alternators. we dont. just get 4-0 gauge wiring and 10 gauge for speaker wire. youll be set.

o and for best results upgrade the alternator wiring to 0 gauge. theres a thread here where someone did that. im going to do that when i buy a spool of 0 gauge.

im going to be running 2 12s with a 1800 watt amp and 4 screens so not only do i have the biggest battery that i could find for amps, i also will be ordering a kenetics power cell which is the size of a motorcycle battery(100 FARAD) but is completely sealed and can be mounted on its side under the seat or upside down if u wish....i dont look at is as not just keeping my headlights for dimming, but more as the stored power saving extra stress on my alt.... not saying the alt wont handle it, but i dont like putting stress on it.... and the screens are only 13watts apiece so they dont add thatb much stress on the truck..... i just feel more confident for 100 bux for the power cell to not have to replace my alt sooner and to keep my lights from dimming.... i had a 1400w amp with 2 12s and 2 10s in a custom box and i didnt have any larger problems with dimming once and a while if i turned my gain up..... just my 2 cents......

oh a def a good idea to go with w7s..... they are nasty and will gooble just about any amount of watts u throw at them.... my buddy has one with a 1400w monoblock amp and the thing is crazy loud......

dont buy the cap, the kenwood, or the box.

get batts like mentioned earlier(XS Power cough cough).
also, get 1/0 wiring(vertexaudio.com for SHOK wiring, great stuff).

build the box yourself or i can find someone in your area to do it.

cool thanks.... just figured i would ask..... ordered my 4 screens, my head unit, hid projectors, hid projector fogs, COPS,led interior light replacement kit, blue led underglow and the upper and lower billet grills this morning.... now i can go ahead and order the power cell.....

229 shipped for the hc1800 which is 1800 watts.... the screens only draw 13 watts each so i dont have to go two crazy or i was gonna just buy the hc 600 and mount it under my third row seat..... havent decided yet

those are great batterys. i know a lot of people who runn them for their comp systems. and as for the W7s. i like them but im a kicker guy. sry. still great subs though. my cuz had 13" W6 and it hit great too. and the box just make one. or buy a cheap one until you find a better one.

i'd upgrade the alternator...my 04 has 130 or 140 watt alternator...looking at buying a 200 watt alternator from ebay...running 1200rms...

Well it will be a few weeks until i get anything but i will try to find someone around here to build one. there is one audio shop here but they charge about $200 to build a box which isnt to bad i guess. I just see the premade boxes on sonicelectronix and I know how much wood cost and it kinda makes me cringe to know im paying that much. Im ok at wood work but when it comes to porting I am lost. I tried the whole box calculator thing and I guess I just dont understand it.I need one for dummies lol
