I have a 2000 XLT 4x4, I do not know much that is required to put bigger tires. Currently have stock 16" rims with 255/70R/16 all around. Have had my baby for almost a year and time to upgrade the rubber. This is my first 4X4 so all the input welcomed! Was looking at 33x12.50-15 Cooper STT or Pro Comp xtreme M/T LT285/75R16 or bigger?

i would just do a simple 3" body lift or go with torsion twist and spacers. that will get you 33" tires. anything bigger than that, you would be better off getting a susp lift. pricewise, cheapest is torsion twist and spacers, followed by body lift, and then suspension lift.

are you going to do off roading? the xtreme mts are kind of loud. good traction in mud though. and you can fit 285/75 16s on the stock rims. it'll fit with out a lift but youll have rubbing. so do a torsion twist and spacers. cost you $75 total.

Thanks guys, I am home from Iraq in 10 days for a couple of weeks. I'll see what I can get done, and post some pics.

if you go with Procomps go with the extreme AT.... they are an awesome tire for everyday driving and in deep mud... plus they have a 40,000mile tread wear warranty:cool:

I've had mine for over two years now and love them!!!
