Can someone tell how hard it is to replace? Is it something I can do by myself with hand tools and jack and jack stands? How long should it take? Or much to have it done.

Thanks

Replacing the flywheel itself isn't really that much of a job. As usual, it's clearing everything away to gain access that takes all the time.

Here are the some of the highlights of the job-

Remove both driveshafts
un-bolt torque converter from flexplate (flywheel)
support motor securely
remove crossmember bolts from trans/transfer case
remove trans bolts from motor
slide trans and transfer case back
remove flexplate bolts and flexplate

This is also a good time to just remove the trans all together and send it out for a rebuild. It's a whole lot cheaper if you carry it in to the shop. A place I used to deal with did a $333 carry-in rebuild special.

Any carry-in rear drive for $333, and any front wheel drive carry-in for $444.

This was a few years ago, I'd have to check what the current prices are. But the point is, that you can save a bundle if you bring it to the shop.
