Hey guys, I searched here and found this thread http://www.expeditionforum.com/f42/engine-removal-16281/

It has to do with a 5.4L.

I have a few questions about removing the 4.6 engine in my 01 Expedition.

Does the intake manifold need to be removed?

I have already taken out the radiator and shroud. Also have removed the clutch fan assembly from the water pump pulley. Will this provide enough room for the engine to come forward inorder to be lifted out? I dont want to have to take out the a/c condenser unless I have to.

*One other thing....I have read some info. that people recomend lifting the body to take the engine out. Is this helpful or necessary? Thanks.
Thanks for any helpful advice

I think the 4.6 is the same size as the 5.4 maybe not quite as wide but what u read for the 5.4 should apply for the 4.6 JMHO.
