I'm in the preliminary planning stages to re-gear my Expedition. The gears in it now are 3.55, and it'll likely be moving to 3.91 gears. Can't seem to find out much information about the front differentials except that they are just a regular Ford 8.8 in an aluminum housing. The standard Ford 8.8 (rear) differentials I have experience with have no carrier break, meaning that if you want to swap gears, no new carrier is required.
Is this also the case for the FRONT axle in the Expedition? Anyone who has re-geard that can attest to this?
