My wife and i looked at a 2003 EB that was originally priced at 7999, we negotiated down to 6500 pending inspection since it had no stickers. The inspection found rust on the passenger side to the point that they do not feel they can pass it for inspection. The owner has agreed to drop the price to 5500. The truck has 83000 miles on it. The shop will be forwarding pictures to me shortly. My thoughts are we should run away from this vehicle because rust spreads like cancer and if the shop won't pass it, it must be pretty bad. Any opinions would be great.

Have a lot of experience with rust on these trucks as I had to get rid of my 03 because of some "frame rot" according to the dealer... Now I'm having issues with rocker panels on the newer 06 I bought so I could give a pretty decent opinion when you post some pics but also, from experience, it is almost never as bad as the dealer or shop says it is... They tried to deem my 03 unfit to drive and tried to total it due to some rust they saw on the radiator support that they though was the frame cross member, I got them to let me take the truck home and drove it for another 2 months then sold it and that was 6 months ago, the new owner drives it every weekend with no issues.
When you get the pics post them on here and it should be easy to see if you have a HUGE issue or if you just need to replace or sand/coat something.
