You'll need new hood struts due to the heavier hood, but as long as it's made to fit your vehicle there should be no problem.

Why would you want the extra weight though? Does the steel hood have a cowl on it, or design? I personally like the light weight aluminum hood.

yeah fiberglass is heavier than the stock aluminum ones... but steel cowl hoods just make the "buses" look bad @$$....:D:D and why would you really wanna build a expy to be fast... they weigh way too much... but offroading a bus is just cool...lol

are they? o weird. what about 1 piece clips? like prerunners have? http://www.fiberwerx.com/html/ford/f150/1piece_gallery03.html just wondering? i keep seeing expeditions around my area that have fiber glass fenders. keeps making me want to get some.

If you're replacing steel, then fiberglass will be lighter. But aluminum will be the lightest material that is commonly available, unless you want to pay out the butt for carbon fiber.

remember too that fiberglass has a tendency to spiderweb after being painted especially if your rough on a vehicle such as offroading.... that is why I got a steel hood for mine... or was it the extremely cheap price I paid for it.... hmmm... :D:D...lol but IMO i wouldn't do fiberglass

maybe just b/c you get all the lucky deals on stuff you need/want. haha i know it spider webs but in cali the law says i think only .5 or maybe 1" of tire is allowed to be further out than fenders. so fender flares or fiberglass is what people get. but the law doesnt say that the height of the truck has to be taken in account. haha just as long as there is fenders covering the tires. or mud flaps if fenders arent enough.

that reminds me. i ment to take a pic. but i saw a nissan hard body prerunner. it had maybe 6" over per side in the front. it was wide. and had fender flares but it wasnt enough. so he had these HUGE wide mud flaps on the front. it looked soo funny and stupid.
