Navigator
Also given a nod by the Texas Auto Writers Association as its "Luxury SUV of the Year," the Lincoln Navigator received a major redesign for the 2003 model year. Its four-wheel independent suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and frame were sharpened for more refined ride and handling.

With sales up 32.2 percent, the results are evident.

"The updated 2003 Lincoln Navigator has to be on your radar screen," Lary Coppola of the Kitsap Business Journal insists. "[It's] the largest, most prestigious, and absolutely poshest Navigator yet."

Like the Aviator, the Lincoln Navigator is packed with luxury and convenience features, namely the industry-first optional power-deployable running boards, its optional power-folding third-row seats and an available power liftgate that raises or lowers the rear door in roughly 10 seconds. Navigator also offers the same DVD-based, voice-activated navigation system that will be available in 2004 Aviator models.

Powered by the same 300-horsepower DOHC 5.4-liter InTechTM V-8 engine, the Navigator will come standard equipped with its tire pressure monitoring system in the 2004 model year. AdvanceTracTM with Roll Stability Control also will be available, as well as new front tweeter speakers and a variety of new exterior and interior colors.
