So my son left the sunroof cracked open during a rain storm and now I'm having some electrical issues. Everything is dry now but the headlights, fog lights, power windows, power door locks, interior lights, and radio are not working. I checked all of the fuses, not the issue. I'm lost!!!

Gem modules are only on first generation expeditions. Sorry you've got water in somewhere else.

Thanks bedrck47, ok great 1955moose, I was just going to ask where the gem was because I sure could not find it. I'll keep looking and checking but any advise is welcomed.

Electrical diagnosis is not my strong suit. I will say check all your fuses and relays in fuse boxes. Make sure you Check power on both sides of fuses. Since water came in from sunroof, I'd start with that circuit. Did you get water in any of the seat plugs on floor, or any modules under seat. Even though your SUV doesn't use a gem module like my 2000 does, I believe their is an equivalent module in there. I will leave this one to bedrck 47 or stamp, our two resident electrical gurus.

The second generation expy have a

Central Junction Box

which is the fuse panel located behind the passenger kick panel Above that is the

Vehicle Security
Module (VSM)

If water got into either of these it can cause some of the problems you are having.

Since I have no idea what all got rain soaked I would start by checking any wiring in those areas

Also you stated you check the fuses Again I have no idea how you check then But I hope you just didn't pull them and look at them. They may look good but there is no way you can see if they are working properly unless you take voltage reading into and out of the fuse. Also keep in mind that some fuses are hot at all times and some are only hot in the run or start position

Bedrck47 I checked the fuses with a multi-meter but I only checked for continuity not voltage. I'll do that next. I did remove the central junction box and checked it for moister since the floor channel right below it had about 2" of water in it. The CJB was dry but I blew it out with air anyway. I did fond some moister in the steering column, would this cause these issues?

Yes especially if you have steering wheel controls for the radio speed control and eatc. Plus there is wiring and connectors for the lights etc in the steering column.

Time to get a hair dryer and try some forced heated air into those areas

Did any of the door switches get wet If they did they may need to be removed and dried out Check behind the kick panels and look at the ground connections and make sure they are dry, clean and tight.

If the "smart junction box" got soaked that may be the source of your problem. Since it contains control circuitry(IC's) you have a few options:
1) test the circuits output voltage with a multimeter
2) depending on the results of #1 try drying it out
3) replacement as a last resort if it fails #1 above.
