I'm looking for advice on the airbag warning light on my Expedition. It blinks once and stays on. Here's the kicker. This started early this Fall when the weather was varying between 40 and 60 degrees. When the weather was warmer, the light didn't come on. I thought...nah! That can't be!. The last few weeks the temperature outside has been consistently below 40+-. After I've driven it for some time (hours), on long trips, the light goes out. On shorter trips of an hour or so, the light stays on. Which leads me to think it has something to do with the warm up in the cabin and hence the interior parts, wires, components etc. I'm not too familiar with electronics; however, when I check it with an ODB reader from O'Reilly Auto, there are no codes showing. Could this be some sort of connection problem? Sounds crazy but......
I had Ford put in a new Restraints Control Module about 10 months ago for another problem.
I may be nuts, but thought I'd give it a try here before I head to my friendly Ford dealer.
