I have driven 10+ expeditions from 2015-2017 over the past few years (rentals). Some have been short wheelbase others the EL. All of them have the same situation when coming to a stop. Just after coming to a complete stop the vehicle keeps oscillating for a few seconds until it finally comes to a rest. It’s like the suspension is tuned too soft so it rocks back and forth. My 2010 expy el does not have this at all. It does the typical one rock and then stops. I don’t know if when they put the EcoBoost engine in the truck that the suspension was not adjusted for the different engine. Have others experienced this and been able to resolve? I’m loooking at getting a 2017 used but this one thing drives me crazy.

I have not noticed any rocking for a few seconds when I stop. After I stop I get the one dip and then motionless...but I'll look closer today when I drive.

Do you have air ride? Haven’t noticed any rocking on my 17 XLT EL non air ride model.

I have a 2015 Expediton Limited 4 x 4 - purchased new. The vehicle does not do what you describe.

Perhaps you have a habit of stopping quickly, with a heavy brake apply, which causes the movement you describe?

It’s a very minor rocking. Most people probably wouldn’t notice. I first noticed this at a drive through when creeping forward and coming to a stop. If you haven’t felt it, try creeping (with foot on brake as vehicle goes forward slowly) and then firmly push the pedal to have the vehicle stop completely. That’s when it rocks ever so slightly for a few seconds.

Mine does this, the springs are too soft and the struts are weak. The body roll and "looseness" in the back end when towing (3500lb tritoon) irritates me. Towed the same boat with my 2014 Ram crew cab and it was stiff and stable. It's a shame that there are no real off-the-shelf options out there to stiffen up the 2015-2017 expeditions.
