2015 interior door handle

Recently my rear passenger interior door handle isn’t working from the inside. Outside works great, any ideas what to check?

First stop: child safety lock.

Agreed, child safety. The small switch is in the upward position on one side of the truck, the downward position on the otherside IIRC. Same switch is used on both sides.

When locked, does the outside still work?

Otherwise, my '08 driver front had the fake chrome blister and bubble, but it was working 100%. I followed a F150 Youtube on swapping it out with a new OEM replacement. All is cable driven, and at the cable end connection to the plastic handle assembly had a broken ear that was just dangling. I might have done that during disassemble or I might have changed the handle in the nick of time? 99% sure this was on the Expedition, have replaced other Ford handles, also with stainless steel cable and plastic components.
