One of my running boards had a "nick" in it. They ordered the trim piece from Ford, had it painted and swapped mine out once they had the new one ready. Pretty painless.

Well, that answers the question as to whether it comes painted.

Somewhere out there, there is a black platinum with a red running board.

Love that blue color. I remember back in 1998, Ford used to call it Wedwood Blue on the Expedition Eddie Bauer I had.

It’s close to Wedgewood Blue, but not quite the same (we had an explorer that color and really liked it). The new blue on these Expy’s is close, but a bit more vibrant. Wedgewood was a bit more grey. I wasn’t sure I liked the blue on the new Expy’s... Now that I’ve seen a couple with my own eyes, I really like it. It’s really nice looking on a Platinum with the Ceramic interior.
