the umpteen modules are each on one of the 4 different buses, HS1 CAN, HS2 CAN, HS3 CAN, and MS CAN. These are all connected to the Gateway Module which acts as a router, and connects HS1 and HS2 to the diag port... So I would start by confirming the two power lines get to the gateway (pin 13, pin 24), and signal ground on pin 14, chassis ground on pin 4.

Small world! I will be in Bradenton the first weekend of Nov. Granddaughter has a soccer tournament at IMG. Hotel prices are nuts!!
My brother and sister in law comes down here all the time for the soccer tournaments at IMG. They are also there to watch their granddaughter, from Lakeland.
They call our guest room here " Room 102" ha.

What did your ins co say? Doubtful rodent damage is covered under warranty. Dealer should give you an estimate to replace the damaged harnesses (the ones that can be seen) and ins should cut a check for the initial amount. Then cover any overage after repair is complete.
Insurance said it would cover after deductible of $2500.00 But the dealership hasn't said much about it being rodent damage... Said they can't find any other damaged wires. They just keep talking communication module.

OK so update #2

The car has been at Auto Nation Ford Bradenton for the last 6 WEEKS!
So here is the deal, We have another 2021 Expedition Max. I use as a work truck most of the time.

They have installed a new fuse box, and a new communication module. Unfortunately they ordered the parts for the 2021 Max not the 2019 regular XLT.
He said he didn't check it in correctly because it was at the back of the lot where there is no internet/ Wi-Fi,, So he couldn't check the VIN, seriously.?
They said they were going to put the old fuse box back in, because the older car doesn't have a recall on the fuse box.
I said are you kidding me? You already have it installed and you are going to pay labor to switch it out to the old one?
He said yes.
He also said they can't get the communication module to work correctly because they ordered it from Ford programed to match the newer 2021 Max not the 2019 regular.
I said so are you going to order another one programed with the correct Vin number.
He said no we are going to reprogram this one.
I said ok how long will that take.
He said not long, I mean it is already running and driving we just can't get it to communicate.
I said Oh great so not long then.
That was 2 weeks ago.
We went there 1 week ago and he said they have a case open with Ford and they are waiting to find out what to do next.
Still waiting, haven't heard anything.

P.S They have sent me many communications to bring my other Fords ( including the one that is there) in for service.
They have also sent me a form to approve. A ton of other services.
New shocks all around
New brakes all around.. including rotors.
5 more hours of labor.
New wiper blades.
coolant change out
And a bunch of other things I cant remember right now.
I ignored the text.

Well I finally got the car back!!!
$1065.00

The end result was that they changed out the Communication Module and reprogramed it to match my Vin #.
They said that something inside the original one had shorted out and that's why it wouldn't communicate or be able to reprogram.
Unfortunately / fortunately that is way below my deductible on my insurance policy, So I'm not going to claim it, Besides they didn't mention rodent damage.
They also put the old fuse box back into the truck.

I didn't get a receipt because they couldn't get their printer to work... We asked them to email it to us but that hasn't happened.. I guess I will need to go back again... Ugg
He said they had to get a tow truck to move it into the garage/ bay.
I thought you just had to remove a bolt and rotate a cam, to manually put the 10 speed into neutral?

Overall the truck is running great again, I have put cotton balls with mint oil in ALL of our car engine compartments, to chase off any critters.
I was actually pleasantly surprised in the final price, I was thinking it would be a lot more than that.

I really want to thank all of you for your input and help!!!!
I wish I could have fixed it myself, I always have up to this point, But this one just stumped me!
Thank you again!!!
