Dealer says its likely my roof needs to be resealed and warns me its going to be extremely expensive. I originally brought my truck in less than 4 years old for this problem. Is there any recourse? This isn't a user induced error, and at less than 4 years old requiring something like this is insane. Anyone else have these issues?

Is there a phone number to try to get Ford assistance in the repair?

I'm extremely upset and the dealer seems to care, but yeah... And they want 850 dollars to complete the diag on it as they haven't dropped the headliner yet.

Do the Expy's have the same issue with the sunroof drains clogging like the 5th gen Explorers? It's an ongoing pain in the ass with my 17.

If you are referring to the panoramic sun roof, you can open it up and clean thoroughly, then blow out the corner drains as they will clog over time. I've never opened up my 2019 Platinum panoramic roof and have only opened the shade, so I've never experienced any leaks.

Here is a video if you have a broken tube.

Thanks Big, missed this reply...yes the panoramic. We're getting a nasty smell in our rear seatbelt cavities during and after a rain. You can actually smell it on the seat belt when you pull it out, on both sides, smells like cat pee. We were driving to NM last week and hit a quick downpour, and sure enough the smell started again from back there soon after. So I assume the rear drains are clogged and the water spilling over the track down into the trim cavity, or the tubes are disconnected somewhere.

Does the rear glass slide forward like the 5th gen Explorers? Those had 4 bolts on each side, so take those out, open the sunroof, and the rear glass could then slide forward to access the rear drains from the top. I could try to use my endoscope in there to see if it's unhooked.
Also we have an ESP, any idea if this would be covered? Maybe it depends on if they're clogged vs disconnected.
Doing what the guy did in the video is something I don't really want to do if I don't have to. I tend to break trim pieces like that taking them off...

reseal the pano roof? What kind of BS is that as long as the rubber is intact. There are mounting screws that hold the rear pano glass in place. You can take the whole rear glass off the roof if you want yourself.
Once a year I stick a credit card like object inside an old T-shirt and stick it between the rubber and the roof panel soack it with Dawn dishwasher detergent and get the gunk off the rubber. Buy a can of 3in1 RV Rubber Conditioner in a spray can and spray the rubber. Ford uses Krytox but that stuff is expensive.
Shouldn’t be an expensive repair if you do it yourself.

I did clean and re-lube with Syl-Glyde awhile back, only $15 from Amazon, which helped get rid of some popping noises. But the issue is the integrity of the rear drain tubes and the smell that happens when it rains, if the water is constantly dripping down into the trim cavity from either a clogged or disconnected drain. It happened again today on the way home from NM. Downpour, pee smell from the rear seatbelt areas, then it went away after awhile. I'll pop the glass forward this weekend and check out the rear drains.
