I did note that the F-150s have larger air bags than the Expeditions.

F-150 steering wheel airbag has a 14" radius vs. Expedition with a 9.8" radius.
F-150 glove box bag is 29" high x 30.5" wide vs. Expedition with 25.6" high x 25.6" wide.

So the jump seat passenger is better covered by the airbag in an F-150 than if his jump seat was placed in the Expedition.

On my 2021 ssv this is what the floor looks like once i remove the factory cupholders, i can't figure out how the middle seat attaches to that
If someone could tell me that'd be awesome 20250916_163656.jpgi went to look at a jumpseat out of a 2013 today, but they didn't have brackets for it, i assume it needs something in order to mount it? Because i cannot see how that mounts to the floor of my ssv(see second picture)20250917_163920.jpgany help would be greatly appreciated

The jump seats use the same brackets that the Expedition's regular console uses. There's a separate set of holes in them. They bolt to the floor and then the jumpseat bolts to the brackets from the sides. You remove the small floor brackets you have and replace them with the jump seat brackets. Buy the seat with the brackets. Outfitters sell them on ebay all the time; usually brand new takeouts.

You'll have to remove that rear restrength (airbag control) module from the present bracket. Just tie-wrap it to the new bracket.

I'd look for a later models jump seat. Not sure if a 2013 would fit.

It should fit perfectly, and with some luck the color may match well.

To install it, most easily attach the brackets first to the seat, open the seat and remove the lower plastic tray. Then set the whole thing down on the floor and bolt the brackets down to the floor. You'll see what I mean when you get it. If you attach the brackets to the floor first, you struggle to access the bolts on the side of the jumpseat that attach it to the brackets. The passenger seat gets in the way of the back side bolt.

Remove the Telematic module and tie wrap it to the new rear bracket.

I had a old post about this when I bought out 2019 max with HD Tow . Im a police officer and our agency has a ssv ezpedition with column shift. I have 5 kids and have been wanting to do this swap for years. On our expedition with HD tow above the electric brake controller is the pro back up assist turn knob. Its mounted in a rectangular plate. The 4wd and drive mode button switch looks like it would fit there . Id just delete or hide the probackup assist. Im not sure how different the newer dashes are? J know on the new 23 + superdutys guys have swaps console for jump seat. One guy used a computer lan or similar plug setup to make the rear lights and charging ports work etc

Look at the dash panel parts Ford uses on SSVs when they are equipped with the pro assist, 4wd, etc; I'm sure you'll find it mounted under the vents somewhere. Then look for the part on eBay or in a junk yard. The 22, 23 & 24 have a different dash.

For what its worth - i have had two "13th gen" (2015-2021) F-150 XLTs with front cloth bench and found it very useful - always removed the headrest for the center back as it spent most of the time folded down and would be in the way - when in use it was for a kid so no issue there. storage underneath and in seatback makes up for any storage 'missed' on the center console.

At one point I was shopping for the 3.0 Diesel version, but that was only offered in Lariat trim and above (other than fleet), and needed the front bench. very rare combination, but I did come across one lariat with Leather seats and the front bench, so for anyone wanting to match a leather interior, they are out there, and maybe a least a part number.

Also, one should be able to get a full front seat bench package from F-150 to make it look a bit cleaner rather than have the discontinuity of the buckets..

Update. The F150 jump seat I bought off ebay worked! The jump seat bolted up to the SSV center console holes Now I have center console storage (also under the seat) and rear cupholders/USB port.
How was the install on this? I have the same setup, I see the little bracket you took off. Does the module that sits there come off of it easy? Been looking at these seats on ebay. This appears to be the best solution I have seen.

Read my post above about the brackets. The module pops off the old bracket with plastic pins. You can zip-tie it to the new jumpseat bracket.

Try to get the brackets with any jumpseat you buy. Also make sure the jumpseat is from a pickup with a back seat, as they have the seatbelt that pulls out of the jumpseat. Get the seatbelt buckle with the seat also.
