2nd Gen - Trouble removing front end links from sway bar

Hi All,

I'm trying to replace the front sway bar/stabilizer bar links on my 04 Navigator. I felt some clunk going over bumps & I went out and bought some Moog Links from O'reilly.

At first it went quite smoothly, the nuts came off quite easily w/an impact wrench. However, I couldn't get the links off the sway bar. Looks like those links were pressed in to the hole on the sway bar like wheel studs & I used a huge hammer to bang it so many times (while using a lot of pb blaster). However, the links did not move a bit. Is there any secret to remove the links? I checked the shop manual & it didn't specify any special procedure. Can you guys give me some input? Many Thanks.

Are you talking about the lower ball joints...? It sounds more like you are working on the lower control arm than the sway bar. Can you post a picture of what you are trying to remove?

pics plz...i vaguely have a pic in my head when i changed my anti-sway bars...i changed the front links but had no probs on my 04

Make sure there is no tension on them and they should come right out. My problem with them was that the nuts were impossible to remove due to rust and location, so I had to cut them out.
