To run a 35" tire you need at least 5" lift. it doesn't matter what size rim as long as the back spacing is right. I have 20" rims and 35" tires.
I think you have 2nd gen ???
So you might need 6" lift, not sure ..
But tire size is tire size it doesn't matter what rim size it is.

Canadian Expy, did you have to use wheel spacers? I tried to mount 35's and they rub the strut on the rear.

1st gens did not have struts like the 2nd gens so it would be irrelevant anyways. Can you post a picture of how they rub? Also are they stock rims or are they aftermarket? Backspacing could be off.

I was getting them mounted when i noticed the rub, had them unmounted. The tires are 35x12.5x20 trail graps and they are aftermarket rims. Do you think 1.5" wheel spacers would do the trick?

You have to get the right backspacing on the rim, 1.5" wheel spacers are not the best option, safety wise...
