I have a 2015 expedition xlt. The right steering wheel controls for audio and phone don’t work . None of them . I bought a motorcraft switchpack and installed . Still nothing . Only change was the right cluster display switched from compass to audio . Don’t know if that’s relative or not probably just from unplugging battery. What do you guys think ? Clockspring? Anything else I’m missing?.

Without doing a proper diagnosis, it's not uncommon for a clock spring to go south. All switches not functioning sounds like a branch problem, not an individual switch gone bad.

All OEM? Battery disconnect shouldn't change anything.

My cruise control stopped working and I diagnosed it to broken wires at a connector hard wired to the clock spring. Replaced the clockspring and everything works again. Could be a similar problem with your switches.

Do Bluetooth and other phone features work using the SWC controls? My 2017 EL XLT has a similar issue where the Media/Phone buttons don't work on the steering wheel, but you also can't switch to Bluetooth audio or connect a phone using the on-radio controls.

I currently have a code for the APIM which handles the Sync and Bluetooth stuff (U3000:04-2B) and the only way to fix it is disconnect the battery for a few minutes. It will work for a few days/weeks, then it dies and throws the code again.

Have you scanned for codes?

no I guess I can scan.all onscreen functions work. The cruise control side steering wheel controls all work it’s just the right side buttons no response from them even after switching them to new ones

I had a similar problem on my XLT, and yes, it was the clockspring that was at fault. If the new switchpack does not change anything, it is very likely. Also test the other functions related to the steering wheel to be sure.
