my 4wd system does not operate correctly after having gone through a flooded ford, 4wd system was not used at that time , but note that the warning lights came on 4wd system and then went out. Now , only A4WD and 4HI work. there anything I should check ?

Try checking the transfer case motor The contacts might have gotten wet. Also try tapping the electric shift motor with a rubber mallet to unstick the mechanism. Lastly try disconnecting the battery for a while then reconnect it again this usually works.

Problem solved, after removing some mud from recent rains, crawl I under the truck; to review the TRS, I found four loose wires out of the connector fully. A small repair and returned to work.

You answered your question in your first post in that you asked "anything I should check ?" Far to many times a question is asked on the forum before any effort is made to inspect the problem.

Had you looked you would have found your problem long before you asked for any help or suggestions.

Again, my intent wasn't to insult or offend but to point out that this happens far to many times.
