I am wondering if it is possible to install the Ford optional frame-mounted hitch with the 7 pin connector on my RWD Expy that has the flat 4 pin trailer connector and currently has a ball mounted in the bumper. I have seen several hitches on Gen-1 Expys in my local Pull-a-Part and I think there is a second wiring harness connection in the rear driver side that is currently capped on my vehicle that I suspect is the connector I would plug the harness going to the frame-mounted hitch into.
If that is the case, it looks like it would be a pretty straightforward install as long as no drilling of the frame was required. Has anyone ever done this that could let me know if I am missing anything else that I need to consider?
