99 expedition wiper problem

Wipers wont shut off and wiper fluid sprays. Ohmed the switch its bad replaced it still does it no signs of a leak on the gem. Sometimes if you turn off the key and back on it will stop. No broken wires

The wipers stay on continuously — front

Circuitry.
GEM.
Multifunction switch (wiper/washer switch).
Wiper run/park relay.
Windshield wiper motor.
GO to Pinpoint Test B .

These are the common problem areas
Since you changed the Multifunction switch and hopefully you got the correct switch and you also claim there is no problem with water around the gem

I would try swapping the relay with the one from the rear
or it could be a problem with the wiring

Can you read and understand wiring diagrams and do you have a multi meter??

Yes to both. Problem 1 is some idiot wired an alarm in and jack legged it so once we fixed the wires and removed it we found this problem also replaced the relays

I am not ruling out that the gem could be the problem. There are some test that can be run to check out the circuit. And most times when a GEM acts up it with more than one item that gives problems. If you can send me a PM with your e-mail address I will copy and send you the prints and other information to help solve the problem.

It will take a little bit of time to get the information to you but hopefully I will get it together by the end of the day and send it. I have some errands to run this morning so I may not answer for an hour or two

2 things to check: a short to the wire feeding the high side of the wiper motor or a problem with the PARK switch inside the motor itself.

The person who hooked up the after market alarm tapped into the lb on the gem module got to love when people dont know what their doing

Glad to hear you found problem. Fellas when your upgrading sound, do it yourself, or be sure the shop are pros. Seen this too many times here in San Francisco. They install one thing and screw up two others.
