hmmmm where your team pride banner, lol, thought you had a club banner on your truck, saw the small ones on side, thought joe said you had one on windsheild, or was that on the truck, i dont remember now, oh well either way my truck is geliouse of yours,
I'm thinking about bumping up to a 36 or 37 but I'm pretty sure that the stock 3.73 gears are still in there (never got around to checking, but that's what it "feels" like)
I think with some flares added, the 36 x 14 swamper sts would look really great.
all stock gears baby!!!!! unfortunately needing more money before I can do that... was thinking about running 4.88s like I had in my 97 F150 with 38s with 4.6 but for alittle better gas mileage I'm probally gonna run 4.56 with factory limited slip since I dont wheel this truck like I did my old one.... right now this is the "family truckster" if you go with 37's go with procomp extreme AT's very smooth ride and awsome in deep mud and snow never had any problems last hunting season and I was going down trails we stoped taking 4wd john deers down but thats my .02 but my 37's do rub at full turn with 11" of lift so be careful if you wheel hard
I had ProComps on my Scout and LOVED them, but unfortnately, the Weld wheels that are on the truck are 16.5" and there aren't alot of people out there making tires for these odd ball sizes anymore.
I suppose I could sell the wheels and the BFG AT KO's as a set and start from scratch. After all, it's only money.
16.5's yeah they suck thats what I had on my old 97 the black one pictured and it had 38x15.5 swamper tsl radials.... i found a set of 16x10 black and silver rims on ebay shipped for 486 i think dont remember but they will have to wait cuz i still need to do all 4 ball joints/ brakes all the way around/ flush radiator and then gears.... yeah alot i pushed off during hunting season now just need to get it all done....
what kind of fender flares you going to get? I would love to get pocket flares or cut outs but havent had much luck finding them.... or might even think of fiberglass fenders
tony do you have a link for them, ive been looking to, and can not find any that will fit my 01, i want flairs bad, almost thought about just making my own fiberglass flares, but not sure how i want to do them with out waisting a ton of time
The pricing is pretty close on both, somewhere around $400. The xenon flares seem to be curvy-er and a little more boy-racery than the bushwacker. They are definately bigger, since they spill out on to the rear doors, but I don't think that they give any more tire coverage than the bushwackers. (2")
I don't know the differences between the urethane material that xenon uses and the dura-flex that bushwacker uses. The only hint that the xenon flares may not be as durable, is that they list each individual piece in their catalog. So perhaps there are a lot of people having to replace individual flares.
I honestly don't know what to do at this point. I'm not even sure if I should paint them body color or leave them black. (there's already a awful lot of white on that truck) If I remember correctly, the xenon flares can't be left natural, they have to be painted.
It does sound cooler to say that you have bushwacker flares on your truck as opposed to saying xenon... maybe I'll let that be the deciding factor.
i wanna go with the bushwackers... used them before and loved them... but my idea I have is to remove stock flares then put on BW 2" flares and here's the idea..... paint all my eddie bauer tan.... wait for it..... black with bedliner spray paint.... I already painted lower valance and inside bottom of doors and very bottom of truck (underneath truck) with it and its held up awesome and protects paint.... but then again thats money and time which both seem to be in short supply lately...
i looked, and i agree, bushwacker, also ordering my body lift soon i hope, thinling about haveing some guys from extreme down, you game bro, be nice to meet ya and have an expy in drive with all them jeeps
