A/C goes to defrost

My a/c goes to the defrost when I put it in either auto mode or max a/c. However it works if I put it floor/panel. Let me know if you know what I can do to fix this issue. thanks to Florida heat

My '97 just started to do that this week luckly for me the temperatures are falling now so a/c isnt a big issue but I to would like to know if anyone knows.

Check the vacuume lines by/under the battery for leaks
