I have a 2023 XL SSV which has a keyed ignition with a fold-out key inside a three button (lock/unlock/horn) key fob.

The Fordpass app will start the car remotely using the on-board modem.

Anyone have any idea if I can add a remote start using a key fob?

I finally accomplished this.

First, I determined the frequency of my remote in the 2023. Two different frequencies were used that year. Mine was 434 MHz, used in the later part (MY 23-1/2) of the year. My original switch-key remote was a 3 button N5F A08TBLP.

I bought a 4 button remote Part # 164-R8337, programmed it using the other keys, and the owners' manual instructions and cut the key.

After assuring that it worked and that the door Lock and unlock buttons worked, I linked the alarm setting to the car by Starting the car with the new key in the ignition and holding in the 2x button for ten seconds. The alarm sounds and that's it.

After all that, you can start the car with the new key by pressing Lock, 2x, 2x . Turn it off by pressing 2x.

That's great info! How do you find the frequency?
I ended up buying a Start-x kit from Amazon, but it's absolutely useless, generally does not work, never can depend on it, literally need to watch the vehicle and point the key at it, and if you're lucky it works.
On my worktruck with the original ford remote it always works flawless

Awesome thanks for the information. Can you provide a link to the owner's manual instructions?
Thanks

Thanks
I was able to buy a new key for $80 and the dealer cut it for free.
So much easier than using the app.
