Advise needed

First thing you need to know is I live on a small island a 10 hour ferry ride from the nearest dealership
I have oil in my coolent
No water in the oil
My local garage says it’s head gaskets and want more than the car is worth to fix it
Is there an easy way I can test it
Looking around I think it could be the oil cooler

That would be my first guess as well

It could also be the water pump, but that usually results in coolant in the oil, rather than oil in the coolant.

Possibly the radiator and it is ATF not engine oil.

If you have oil cooler lines. The gasket for the oil filter housing on the engine block could be leaking. There's coolant and oil galleys
