I have not noticed any difference in any way from the removal of the air dam. Probably matters slightly but not from what I have seen. I mostly run in ECO and it hasn't changed.

Dealer did it for me - but it was bolts. Removed it in perfect condition and kept it for reinstall.

I haven't done it yet, myself, but the owner's manual does say it's removable and that there's only 8 fasteners that need to be removed...
