Hello, i am a brand new member to this forum as i just sold my 2004 nissan maxima 6spd and bought a 2005 expo EB with tow package, and i have done alot of searhing throught threads on hear looking for aftermarket parts and the gains i can expect from each. I have been able to find a few but not all that i was looking for and i still have questions unanswered.

Now what i propose is we start a thread that does not get moved it stays at the top where all can find it with ease, and in that thread are the various aftermarket parts that are available to us, and what these parts will accomplish. For example: K&N CAI approximatly 350$ and will increase hp and torque this much while improving fuel economy. and then post a link to order that part or a link to a site where it is available.

Actually, this would be really cool. The only thing in the near future that I plan on getting is a chip from Sniper Tuning. But is would be really nice to have some sort of guide so I could see what I could buy if I get some "spare change"

Alright, so this is what i am looking for. please chime in with your knowledge if you have the following.

1. Ram air intake
2.Cold air intake
3. headers
4 various exhaust setups
5. various performance chips
6. lift kits
7. dropkits
8. Superchargers

And you get the drift. also mods can you go in there and straighten the posts out after we get them so they are easily found?

IMHO:

1. Ram air intake - minimal
2.Cold air intake - minimal
3. headers - Shorties: minimal to none. Long tubes: minimal until you start pushing a lot of power, like 500hp, e.g. with a supercharger or turbo
4 various exhaust setups - minimal
5. various performance chips - minimal to moderate power-wise, but big improvement in driveability and shifting
6. lift kits
7. dropkits
8. Superchargers - huge gains, some more huge that others

Only thing i have on this list is #2 - minimal gain yes but it did improve my MPG slightly.

There are some members like pronstar that have superchargers on this site and im sure they will chime in.

Best bang for the buck would be supercharger, then maybe headers, exhaust, tune depending on what you have planned for the truck

If I were to start all over again or suggest an order of upgrades I would do.....
1. Performance Chip or Programmer that can accomodate later modifications. Custom tunes are nice too if the tuner knows how to change the sloppy/ill timed shifting these trucks have stock.
2. Some type of intake tract modification weither removing silencer only and replacing element or complete intake kit.
3. Exhaust (cat back) headers are okay too but not a good bang for the buck.
4. Gears... 4.10 gears would really help these things move especially the new 3v motors. I would expect not to lose much mileage on this one either.
5. Higher stall torque converter (04 and earlier only). The low stall of the factory torque converter on the 04 and older leaves alot to be desired.
6. Supercharger...... Ridiculous amount of power increase and every change before this stage only helps the supercharger work better. The intake upgrades done earlier in step 2 will more than likely be tossed out but all other upgrades can stay for the most part. Some of the supercharger kits may however come with their own chip or programmer.....
