Hey everyone,

I have an 06 King Ranch expedition that is throwing Airbag Code 52. I know the fault codes are specific to years and models and have been unable to find what 52 is for my 06. The code only comes on when a passenger sits in the sit.

I have fumbled around with the connections under the seat, but nothing has cleared the code.

I was hoping someone could tell me what the repair manual says about this code before I take it to the dealer. I appreciate the help!

I believe that the code you are getting is a Lamp Fault Code

Lamp Fault Codes

When the restraints control module (RCM) detects a system fault, it will cause the air bag indicator to flash a coded sequence: a lamp fault code (LFC). The code is 2 digits. The first digit is flashed with a 0.5-second interval between pulses. There is a 2-second pause before the second digit is flashed, which also has a 0.5-second interval between pulses. There is a 5-second pause between each display of an LFC.

Each LFC is flashed 5 times after which the air bag indictor will remain lit for the remainder of the key-on cycle. If there are multiple LFCs, each LFC will flash in order of priority.

DTC LFC
B2692 52 Passenger Safety Belt Buckle Switch Circuit Fault Go To Pinpoint Test N .
B2438 52 Passenger Safety Belt Buckle Switch Circuit Short to Ground Go To Pinpoint Test O .

There are two test that can be done to check the system. If your troubleshooting skills are good and you would like a printout of the test procedures Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send them to you. You will need a good Multi-meter to make these test.

**********CAUTION**********

Be very careful when playing with the wiring for the airbags and using meters on the circuit So that you do not cause the airbags to deploy

Before working on the airbag circuits you should preform the
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deactivation and Reactivation procedure
