Hey. My name is Dante. Purchased an 05 Eddie Bauer Expedition a few months ago to tow my race car around. Unfortunatly it has been a lemon and a few things need replacing. Hopefully when its all done, I will enjoy it more.

Look forward to meeting the people on this site for their knowledge and possibly used parts.

First off welcome!

That's about as clean a vehicle as you can get, wish my engine looked like that, I'm afraid to wash mine down with all the problems people have mentioned after getting the electronics wet. Why do you call it a "lemon"?

What do you race? I raced Super Karts as well as SCCA for many years, had to quit for a while due to low funds from buying a house and raising kids. Hope to get back into it again soon.

I drag race an 80 camaro, and yes racing is $$$

Thank you for the compliment on the cleanliness. I take great pride in my detailing work on vehicles.

I bought the truck with 150,000km on it so it was used

I so far have put toyo tires on it, ball joints, brakes all around, 3 coils, all the spark plugs, ac compressor, air bag sensor, flash my computer to get advance trac working, sunroof leaked all over in car wash, u joints and replace pinion seal, lol

so far I still have to get new cats as they are plugged (if you know someone who has them let me know), struts all around and a rear wheel bearing

this is why I call it a lemon! but i think i will love it when its all done

It is a FORD, Fix Or Replace Daily.........

You will love it, most sounds like expected maintenance except for the sunroof leak. So sounds like you detailed the engine yourself, any suggestions on how to do this without damaging electrical items? Also any issues changing the plugs, lots of posts indicating the plugs can break off due to being stuck in the aluminum heads? Mine has 44,000 miles on it and I'm thinking about changing the plugs now vs. waiting for the 100,000 mile mark.

the key is doing it when the engine warm and running. i wash it with engine running and let it run for a bit after done to dry all things up.

i just use a power washer, degreaser to clean

when the engine has cooled, i just spray some tire dressing to get it shiny

as for the plugs, spray down each plug with some wd40 a day before you plan on removing them. sometimes you will have to work the plug back and fourth (loosen & tighten) to get them out without breaking them
