So ive looked at projectors with hids, ive put silverstars in my stock housings, ive heard lightning housings with hids, without hids. what I want to know is what setup will light up the road the best? I cant stand the way the projectors look unless it was a retrofit but I dont have the money to do that. I drive down dark roads alot and have trouble seeing sometimes. I just have so many options and I want to know which ones work the best before I spend a bunch of money and time switching setups. Looks is not really a factor. I was thinking lightning headlights but I used to have a real lightning and put HIDs in the stock housings and it was all over the road so yall tell me lol

I have to agree lightning lights with hid, go with a 4300k (35w), but if that dosent find your lost remote go projectors with hids, theres a million different styles on ebay just to get a feel/idea

ive used the stock/silverstar/100w xenon offroading bulbs/then finally 6k hid and by far 6k hid is the best in my opinion

on another post i had almost given up and was going to send my lights off to hid illusionz and let them retrofit but I really just worry about the money im spending on lights. Its cool but is it really worth it? Do lightning style headlights not have alot of glare? and do you still have high and low beams with those?

lightning lights aren't that bad i used to have them with 10K HIDs and never had a problem driving at night in the country... just have to aim the lights lower.. currently have R8 styled lights with my HIDs and love them but I only have low beams didn't order the bi-xeons... but I dont need highs since my lows are bright enough... also have HIDs in fogs just need clear lenses I hate my stock ones... and for true high beams I have some Hella 700FFs and are a lot brighter than any high beams...

Check out that ddmtuning site the single beams (h13 i believe) are like 30 and the dual beam (9007) is 50, both prices plus shipping

I am running the 8000K hid's in the factory Headlights and also the fogs ( not the clear lightning but the stock expy headlights) and even thou it does kinda go all over it lights it up very well :D (see pic) I have also added a set of the hella 500ff's behind the grille for whenever I need a little extra light.

Note: The pic of night driving was taken before I had re-aimed the headlights. It was taken while driving on I-10W (just in case you notice the speedo at 80 the posted limit here is 75 :D) I got the HID kits off of ebay from store motorsportpartz the 9007 kit for the headlights is also the High / Low kit so it comes with the full relay harness as well. I have ordered many sets from them and never had a doa or any other problems. I have also seen that now they have a 50W 8000K kit instead of my 35W so I am looking at upgrading :D

silverstar is sylvanias brand. its everywhere and works great. i dont have the brightest but the one down from the brightest. my uncle has the brightest in his jeep. i thought he had his lower KC lights on in the desert. it was just his head lights. the ones i have blind people in cars since my front is higher then the rear a little the light goes up and ****** everyone off. haha but i drive on some dark back roads to get to my school and home so i turn my KCs on and blind everyone in the way. i was thinking hids but then im weird cause since i had halogen off road lights i would need to get hid off road lights. im just weird like that. so im good with my halogens. just probably gonna get some new head lights. cant decide on blacked out lightnings or blacked out R8s. like them both. ill find something one day.

I just install 5000k head and fog lights in my wife's expedition from DDMTuning. It was a easy install and looks great. I will try to post before and after pics.
