Yet another update: Manufacturer Recall Number25S37 now has a remedy. Not sure what the remedy is, but it's apparently available. So that's good I suppose... Hopefully anyone who searches for this recall gets the help they need.

From reading the NHTSA.gov site - the recall will involve replacing the brake master cylinder. IF the cylinder is leaking into the brake booster, the booster will also be replaced.

Lawyer or even just go small claims alone if you don't want to invest in pursuing it.

Update #245 (not trying to be overwhelming here, but I want this to be helpful for future searches on this).

I contacted the dealer to inform them there is now an official remedy. They replied later stating that the parts they put in (the service we had to pay for a few weeks ago) turned out to be the updated master cylinder. Per the remedy part number list, all the parts installed match. When I go to fordparts.com and enter my VIN, this is the master cylinder that comes up: Part #: BRMC308 (HL1Z2140B). There are no notes stating "replacement for xxxxx" or similar.
I'm going to say that seems odd. How did a part on the shelf meet the updated standards for the remedy? Was this a master cylinder that was updated a few years ago and it meets the new standards? (these are kind of rhetorical...) I know Ford had to have changed something. But it still seems odd...

The good news is we are supposed to be refunded the money we had to shell out to fix the issue.

(@99WhiteC5Coupe , by the way, they did have to replace the booster. It was loaded full of fluid!! So much so that it was sucking into the intake and blowing out the exhaust)
