Hello, I have a 2000 expedition that seems to be in anti theft mode. I drove it in the morning , then in the evening it wouldn't start, gauges, windows dont work. I've tried every trick I could find on google, and a couple suggested by a mechanic friend. Nothing is working, any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Can you list what you have tried so we are not telling you the same thing. Also list any recent maintanence/repairs that has been done.

First thing to do is make sure you are getting power Do a "voltage drop test" to learn how search that on youtube. Test negative battery cables as well as positive.
Got to make sure you have power otherwise all other test are pointless.
If you dont have mutimeter a digital voltage meter will work.($15 at auto parts store)

Ensure that the battery is good.

Ensure that the battery terminal connectors and battery posts are clean and tight (not just, “They look okay”).

Do you have any power such as lights or horn?

Wiggle the shifter while trying to start the vehicle - if this does not work, shift to neutral and see if it will start in neutral. If this works - you have a defective neutral safety switch.

I have tried the key in the door lock back and forth, letting it sit. Turning the ignition on and off 3 times and hitting the brake, I've unhooked the battery for 15 minutes, I've left the key in the ignition for 15 minutes, I've pulled the fuse and let it sit...all of the cables were replaced a couple months ago, the battery has a full charge. As far as a drop test I can try that later, I have a meter at work.

From afar - I still think the problem is something simple, such as a cable not connected cleanly and tightly.

Since you had all the cables replaced several months ago, I would trace each one and ensure their connections are clean and tight.

Does the horn sound or headlamps turn-on when the car will not start?
