So based on that from 97-98...Does the 2014 F-150 have a cabin filter? Our Expy's more closely resemble those component wise than the 2015+. Maybe an assembly from there would work...?

looks like 2015-2017 expys got skewered, no cabin air filter across navigators or expys
seems ODD to say the least
going to look at 2014s next as the body and interior have not changed that much, biggest change was removing 5.4 and using eco boost.

expeditions 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 all use part number 19850 for the heater motor plenum main structure...and no cabin filter is listed

navigators for same years also use same plenum part number....i think we be screwed a bit

went all the way back to 2010 models for both navigators and expeditions. same plenum part number and on the exploded view, no filter is listed
2008 nav and expy also used same main body of plenum...

going to search F150 next

ok 2012- 2014 f150 all trim levels no cabin filter, but same plenum main body number
2015 F150 all does have one, but main plenum is drastically different and yes a different main body and attaching intake , the cabin filter is between the main plenum and the intake air duct for the hvac system.

brain is hurting, searched many models and lines and there is no easy solution except to modify an 2015 F150 hvac intake plenum.
or separating the existing main plenum from the hvac intake plenum and slipping in a thin gold coated filter, much like what is found in the EDGE suv

we could also open up the cowl panel deflector that redirects air to the main cabin and slip one in there,
again an EDGE gold filter is small and could be modified to work.
it would just filter outside air and not when recirc is selected.
i have a sick mind so sometimes filtering recirc air might be warranted, especially after a night of jalapenos

Interesting, I didn't see anything in the 2014 manual (other than the instrument panel light that someone already mentioned), but I did find instructions on changing the seat air filter, something I never thought about even checking.
