1,200-2,200 rpm isn’t where the extra power is needed. When you need extra peak power you are giving it gas and it’s going to rev much past 2,200 rpm. E-85 will supply more power.

Supply more 'power' how? Your engine runs on 87 octane. Using 100 octane, should run the same, but maybe a little hard starting cold. I don't think you can use E85 in the EcoBoost.1,200-2,200 rpm isn’t where the extra power is needed. When you need extra peak power you are giving it gas and it’s going to rev much past 2,200 rpm. Are there Flex Fuel versions of the Expy? My owners manual and fuel filler both say not to exceed fuels with >15% ethanol content.
Not 4th gens. Many 07-14’ 3rd gens are flex fuel capable. Previous to that and after that not available.
I'd go one step further and specify only 09-14 Expeditions/Navigators wereFlex Fuel capable. 06-08 5.4 3 valve were not. Suspect is related to the 06-08 being 300HP where 09-14 got bumped to 310.
Fun fact: first factory Flex Fuel vehicle was famous Ford Taurus in 1996.
Another fun fact, every gallon of gasoline I put in my Expedition, regardless of variety .... is Flex Fuel
From the great state of Texas.....
You all are welcome for the refineries down here who over produce even when demand isn't there.
We just pack the pipelines for a rainy day keeping those prices in the "just right" territory lol.
I live in the Midwest.
When fuel prices suddenly spike overnight (all stations in tandem), the local media runs (and reruns) their standard stories about how the fuel companies had to raise the prices.
One of the often-cited excuses is that the refineries are doing scheduled maintenance, thus the price increase.
I always wonder why my local Kroger store doesn’t raise prices when they do scheduled maintenance on the store?
