Are there supposed to be trim pieces under the bars on the roof?

wow, very interesting. My silver Plati built 05/19 doesn't have any trim, just raw. I claim it saves weight....lol

I bet there was a manufacturing issue that left off the trim pieces. I bet they will be installed under warranty.

Build date is just below the MSRP and ford finance stuff on the window sticker, right? In addition to my pic above, 5/14/19 for me and a again, a nope on the trim.

I even tried looking at parts diagrams and can't seem to find the trim pieces?

5/19 Build date on mine. No trim pieces. I noticed back when removing the crossbars and thought it was odd.

Apr 8, 2018 build date on my XLT - I have trim pieces.

Is there a correlation with whether you have the sunroof or not? I do not...

I'm sorry, but this is bizarre. Was this an assembly line screw up? A cost-saving measure?

Or was it simply:

"Hey, Cletus, we never got those roof trim pieces from the supplier, what do you want to do?"

"Eh, screw it, build 'em and ship 'em anyway...see if anyone notices."

Remember when Ford's tag line used to be "Quality is Job #1?" Seems that they are a bit sloppy these days. This is my first Ford, and fit/finish and panel alignment leaves a lot to be desired.

Same here. I had to get the dealer body shop to align both driver side doors and fix the liftgate from hitting the bumper when it closed. Drunk robot working at the Kentucky factory... Notice a lot with the doors misaligned on the drivers side.

I’m going with the ‘Hey, Cletus’ scenario or something there about. Has to be a assembly screw up.

Interesting thought. Sunroof here and no trim.

Definitely bizarre!

Yes to sunroof and no trim. I am thinking it is date related. Seems to be around May 2019 builds and after that don't have them. Either cost cutting or they ran out of them and just decided to not use them.

I have sunroof and trim but idk if that means anything to this discussion since I don’t have the Expy. FWIW my build date was 12/22/17
