Is this possible to do on 2016, without too much difficulty?

I know the Navigators have this functionality as we almost got one. I asked at the dealer, but they said no way.

I see there is an old thread about adding this by way of a module and fishing wires (on an older model), I was hoping they may have made it easier on the newer ones, like the Navs.

Thank you

I'm hoping so as I would like to try it. I studied the diagrams and the wiring is slightly different with Auto vs non-Auto. You will need to replace your passenger window regulator motor (it has the Auto sensors integrated into it) and also install a new window switch on the driver's side that is compatible with the Auto feature. Trouble is, I believe the Navigator switches are silver while the Expy switches are black. So, there is a cosmetic issue. But, functionally, with some work and rewiring it should be possible. . .

Good news! 2015-2017 Navigators now have black window switches. So, we can swap these into our Expeditions and they will look stock. :) But, it will require some rewiring.

According to my 2009 factory wiring diagrams, the entire master window switch on the driver's side must be swapped, plus wires rearranged, and the passenger window switch as well as the passenger window regulator must also be replaced. Some rearranging of the wiring for the front passenger window switch will also be needed.

If I was going to attempt this, I would get the following from a 2015-2017 Navigator:

* Driver's master window switch
* Driver's master window switch pigtail (or new OEM replacement connector kit, or used driver's door wire harness)
* Right front passenger window switch
* Right front passenger door window regulator motor
* Right front passenger door wire harness

Rear window wiring appears to be the same between models.

The only other difference I can spot is the fact Navigators have a separate wire going into each window switch for illumination that is not present on Expeditions. The switches in our trucks light up whenever the ignition is ON.

Wow! Thanks for all of the info.

It seems a little beyond my ability, but if anyone gives it a go and can provide some step-by-step instructions, maybe I can ask the mechanic at my father-in-laws shop to tackle it.

Thanks again.

When we still had our Mercury Grand Marquis, I spent time over at the CrownVic Forums. Many people there had upgraded their older cars to the 2009+ style Ford power window switches. That involved re-pinning wires in the connectors for the windows and a total rewire of the door lock controls. I did this in our 2005 and, while it took some time and effort, it wasn't that bad. I don't think adding auto-down to the passenger window in our trucks would be any more difficult.
